As the Sales Director you will be responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, growth, and performance within the company. This role requires a strong background in sales leadership and a deep understanding of the manufacturing or construction industry. You will lead a team of sales professionals, develop long-term relationships with key clients, and ensure that sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.
You will be a key player in expanding market presence, promoting company products/services, and contributing to the company's strategic vision in a dynamic, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Sales Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a robust sales strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and maximize individual performance.
- Create and enforce sales processes, ensuring they are adhered to by the team.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats, and leverage this information to refine strategies.
*Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Identify and target potential clients and strategic partnerships in the manufacturing or construction sectors.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, contractors, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations and close complex sales deals, ensuring profitability and long-term client satisfaction.
- Address customer needs and expectations by offering tailored solutions.
*Sales Operations & Reporting- Track and analyze sales metrics (sales pipeline, conversion rates, etc.) to evaluate team performance and adjust strategies.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management.
- Oversee pricing strategies, ensuring they align with the market and company profitability goals. Market Research & Business Development
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities within the manufacturing and construction sectors.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and generate leads.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand recognition and grow the customer base.
*Collaboration & Cross-functional Teamwork
- Collaborate with product development, engineering, and project management teams to ensure client requirements are met.
- Work with the operations team to ensure timely delivery of products/services and resolve any post-sale issues.
1. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in sales leadership roles within the manufacturing or construction industries.
2. Proven track record of driving sales growth, developing strategic sales plans, and managing high-performing sales teams.
3. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
4. Strong understanding of the manufacturing or construction industry’s sales cycles, supply chains, and project-based selling.
5. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
6. Ability to analyze sales performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
7. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
8. Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Ability to travel to client sites and industry events as required.
*Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in B2B sales, especially in large-scale, long-term projects (construction projects, equipment sales, etc.).
- Knowledge of local, national, and international market dynamics in the relevant industry.- Expertise in managing both direct sales and channel partner networks.
